This is the thing that annoys me most in the world. "Give me [upvotes, likes, shares] because I want 1000 [upvotes, likes, shares]". There's no consideration of quality or actual effort that the person put in to creating the actual piece of content. But ultimately, if it works, it works, and incentives speak for themselves. Bad social media karma comes back around some way or another.
